GENERAL SUMMARYThis position will be primarily focused on conducting internal Open Source software reviews, and finding ways to enable Business Units to effectively utilize open source software while also maintaining license compliance and mitigating risks. The successful candidate will work very closely with software developers to understand how internally developed software will be integrated with Open Source software. They will analyze Open Source license agreements and investigate risks to Qualcomm's intellectual property rights associated with using Open Source software.

The successful candidate will provide counseling on sophisticated issues regarding Open Source compliance to senior executives, Business Unit engineers and legal staff.Candidates must be able to address a series of practical legal counseling, complex license analysis, and technical scenarios in the area of Open Source and related topics to be given during the interview process.A candidate's ability to communicate effectively with company executives, technical professionals, and legal professionals is essential.

+ Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.+ Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.Minimum QualificationsEducation:Juris Doctorate degree or international equivalent.

Work Experiences:8+ years relevant experience as counsel at a law firm or in-house., Active bar license to practice law in the state or jurisdiction where the employee will be practicing (or ability to obtain upon hiring).Certifications:Skills:Preferred QualificationsEducation:Bachelors - Engineering, Bachelors - legal-related field (eg, Law, Legal Studies, etc.

), Masters - LawWork Experiences:10+ years in practice with relevant experience.,7+ years experience as counsel at a law firm or in-house with a focus on relevant specialty (eg, technology, real estate).,4+ years in a leadership role with direct reports in a legal function (only applies to positions with direct reports).
